Time for a different kind of dancing (Close)

Tyler rolled his eyes but still grinned at Eliza's comment.  "Oh, well... you know..,"  He started, trying to come up with an excuse,  "Well actually... you don't know when ever you going to fight.  So it's good practice to wear different types of clothing,"  He said nodding slowly as he convince himself that what he was saying was true.  "Besides, I'm not the one wearing gardening gloves.  You do realize this is training not strawberry picking, right?"  Tyler teased back trying to cover up his own mistake. 

Smiling a little smugly that he wasn't the only who forgot something, Tyler stepped until he was about 5 yards from Eliza.  Withdrawing only one sword for the moment, he was feeling completely over-confident and did not think twice about her gloves.  "Ready?"  He asked but didn't wait for a response.  As soon as the word was out of his mouth he lunged covering the fifteen feet within a few seconds aiming for an over head lunge to the neck.  He wouldn't hit her, of course, but he would only pull back at the last minute, if it came to that. 

Tyler's eyes grew wide as the daggers appeared and blocked his blade.  Stunned for a second not quite believing how the daggers just appeared out of thin air, he didn't notice her attack going toward his arm.  Jerking back at the last second she manage to only place a scratch on his bicep/tricep area.  Stepping back a pace or two, Tyler had to reanalyze the situation.  "That was close,"  He thought still stunned a little bit, "I'm going to have to change tactics,"  He thought sizing up the situation.  He had no legitimate powers of his own but his mother did grant him great strategic skills.  "Dagger are a close quarter weapon, so I'm going have to stay back so she doesn't get chance to use them,"  He thought quickly raising the sword back as he prepared to strike a second time.  Luckily, he had drawn the longer of his two swords, where the blade was about three feet long, and his arms had a long reach.  "Nifty trick you have there, any other surprises I should know about?"  He chatted as he lifted the blade above his head reading the strike.  Taking a step in he swung the sword in a low arc aiming for the neck.  The swing was powerful but slow and it would be hard to parry but easily dodged.  Still the attack proved its effect and he was still out of range of her daggers.  "Gotta be watchful for other tricks too,"  He thought looking at their fight as a game of chess as he started to try to predict his training partners moves in advance. 
   

After the swing Tyler's his plan was to step back, keeping his distance, and swing fast and hard again from the other side. Annoying little roots tend to get in the way when your moving though and his left foot snagged on it as he was moving causing him to fall on his right side. His expression was of total disbelief as he saw what tripped him. It had slipped his mind (forgive the pun) that she was a daughter of Demeter and it cost him. Withdrawing his second blade, a cruel looking saw-back machete, and started to plan his escape route. He was at a huge disadvantage on the ground and he was pretty sure he twisted his ankle after it caught on the root.

'Great,' he thought sarcastically realizing his predicament. Tyler had one other power he could use but it had a serious draw back. Under his eye patch was an actual healthy eye that held his power. It, in a sense, slowed down his perception of time to help him analyze a situation he is in. It didn't make him move quicker but it helped him read a situation faster so that he can adjust accordingly. However, it only last about ten minutes before he became extremely exhausted and need to sleep for the rest of the day. 'No, not yet' he decided and then called out to Eliza " I didn't no Hunters were such cheaters?" He called out trying to stall for enough time for him to get up. She never told him she was a Hunter but it was kind of a common knowledge who was.

Tyler would not be jumping anytime soon. His ankle was not seriously injured, but it will be irritated for the next couple of days. She was also pitying him and he hated being pitied. On top of all that, Tyler had a cut in his suits sleeve and now its dirty. She also disarmed him, kicking his longer sword out of his reach. 'Great, just great' He thought bitterly. "I guess it's time to play dirty," He said to her before picking up a handful of sand from the arena floor and throwing it in her face. Pencil-rowling away from her to the side, he stood up as quickly as his ankle would allow him.

They were now at least 10 feet apart and he only had his saw-back machete. Balancing on his right leg Tyler smirked. "You are better than I thought," He admitted but mostly talking to stall for time. Coming to only one conclusion, he let out a sigh and moved to take off his eye patch. "If I fall asleep, please don't stab," He joked with dead seriousness. Tyler's eye that is usually visible was a hazel green/blue but his eye that held his power was a crimson red. As he took off the patch, his perception of time began to slow and everything became a little clearer for him. Falling into a ready stance that would support his wounded ankle, he waited for Eliza to make the first move.

Tyler gave a small smile at her reaction to his eye. He knew he looked a bit odd with the eye patch but, besides making sure his power didn't activate when he chose, it also kept people from judging him as a freak; at least thats what he thought they would think. "It was a gift from my mother," He explained still trying to figure out his next move, "After I lost my real eye, Nemesis found me worthy enough to replace it."

Tyler looked for his other sword and saw that it was closer to Eliza than him. Figuring he could only use his machete. "This eye lets me see more than I usually can. Its also why I'm the best swordsman in camp, or at least tied for first," This was not actually tested, so if it was true or not he didn't know, he was mainly talking for time to plan. Figuring it was bad strategy to tell your opponent your weakness he left out the draw back of his eye which made him very tired very quickly. 'Hell, it's only been a minute and i'm starting to get weary," he grudgingly thought. Putting pressure on his left ankle and finding he could deal with the pain, Tyler charged planning on faking a thrust to her abdomen and then switching to a reverse to the side.
